Stubbins provides a useful example of a journey where the drive is only one stage of a countryside day. Learners who want more freedom for outdoor activities should include arrival arrangements and the return in their goals, not focus solely on reaching the area.
The National Trust describes Holcombe Moor and Stubbins Estate as woodland, farmland and moorland across a large area. It provides different arrival guidance for the Stubbins circular walk and the approach towards Peel Tower. A single estate name therefore does not identify the correct start for every activity.
For a real visit, use the current National Trust guidance and check the intended route and access before leaving. A countryside path on a map is not necessarily a vehicle connection. Discuss how you would leave time for the transition from driving to walking without feeling obliged to stop at the nearest visible access point.
An outdoor day can change in length or leave you tired. Include that in the planning conversation with your instructor, along with passenger needs and an alternative arrangement if the day changes. Learning progress should include the judgement to revise a plan, not only the ability to follow the outward directions.

Yes, Stubbins is in our service coverage. Send your full postcode, address and available times so we can agree collection and confirm a suitable instructor slot. Coverage does not mean every transmission or time is immediately available.
Tell us about your previous experience, the vehicle you expect to drive and your timetable. We can discuss the available options and an assessment if needed. Confirm the teaching hours and test arrangements before booking an intensive course.
Lessons develop skills you can apply on different roads. We do not promise a particular examination route or a guaranteed pass. Use the official DVSA service to check test-centre and appointment information.
